OK so I saw this photo paper from 3M that is mean to be printed like a photo but it has adhesive on it so you can move it around like a post it note. And i thought - wow, cool idea, should make scrapping a mini album really fast! this stuff is not too good. I actually sorta thought it sucked, in truth. the color representation is terrible. I know with my Epson that usually what i see on the screen is what i get on the paper, because i have my moitor and gamma calibrated. With epson, with kodak, and with Ultra, the colors come out great. But this paper? phooey! The colors were very washed out, and all leaned to greenish undertones, making skin look awful. I tried everything - being a photoshop nerd, i fooled with all kinds of setting and color balance - everything. even color saturated the heck out of things and skewed my balance further over to more red and magenta - and still the print looked horrible. And i though that the adhesive covered the whole back of the picture. It doesnt. It is in a stripe across the long side on top and bottom, but nothing in the middle. While the prints themselves dried very quickly - i wont be buying any more of this junk any time soon. Not til 3M can make a better color paper. Man, i was so disappointed, because i thought it was such a clever idea! Totally not impressed with it at all. michelle

That's too bad. Thanks for the review.
Do you prefer matte or glossy photo paper? Hubby bought me an HP 4x6 printer and I just love it. But the paper he bought was a matte and I didn't really like it...I bought some glossy and like it better. I wasn't sure if it was because of the finish or the brand of paper.
What's your fave?

well - honestly for color, i like gossy - but for black and white, or sepia, i like the matte finish a little better.
Matte finish seems to dry a little quicker for me.
And when you work in black and white, sometimes on glossy paper the black areas take on a weird sort of life on their own, at least, with my printer. And different manufacturers all look a little different, too, and that affects how they come out too.
The one thing i can say is that the Espson, while a bit of an ink hog, does make a great photo print, and kicks the pants off the HP i had before this one. Thats why i was so stunned when the 3m ones came out crummy - i didnt think it was possible for my print to do that bad a job, as it never has until i used this paper!

Michelle, why not for grins and giggles send and email to 3M with digi's of the results and see if they respond/refund your money might be worth a shot and if they don't know how bad it is they can't fix it .. can't hurt.
