I have recently bought several new books and thought I would share with you all what I thought
I bought on Amazon:
Collage Lost and Found
Collage Unleashed
1000 Artist Trading Cards
from the Scrapbook Club:
Simply Cards
Focal Point
The Amazing Page
on Ebay: Trading Cards Techniques & ATCs
A++++
I really like the Collage Lost and Found. There are some great tips for collaging on all sorts of different items/surfaces. A few new techniques, as well as several ideas and projects. Also in the book are techniques and instructions for several jewlerry making projects, including home made chains and collage pendants. There are 4 pages of images at the end of the book that are great to scan and print out for backgrounds and such on ATCs or any collage. It was a great addition to the Artist Trading Card Workshop.
A-
I didn't so much enjoy Collage Unleashed. Most of the information found in this book can be found in the Workshop and Lost & Found. Its alot of reading, although there are some great doodles included at the end of the book for photocoping.
A+++
1000 Artist Trading Cards is a gallery book. There is a few techniques at the front of the book, mainly for using fabric. (i'm not much into fabric), but the majority of the book is filled with pictures--Everyone loves pictures right!! I found the 1000 ATCs to be very inspiring--there are loads of great cards to look at and get ideas from.
A+++
I really enjoyed all the scrapbooking books--I like to get ideas for LOs and sketches from magazines and books. There are some great greeting card ideas in Simply Cards and tons of page ideas in the Amazing page (650 to be exact). The Focal Point has some really great techniques to showcase your best photos in your scrapbook. Some of which could even be handy to use on ATCs.
A+
The book I purchased from Ebay--Trading Cards Techniques & ATCs was a rip off-- I paid over $23 Canadian after S&H and it took 2 months to get here. I was not aware at the time of bidding that it was only 19 pages long. There are however, a couple good ideas and it had some good templates for folded ATCs.
