Ok ladies - bottom line - if you are into ATCs or even new techniques, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU! I bought it when I bought the Kaleidescope book and knew that it was an awesome book ( I thumbed through and was excited to try out the techniques), but I put it aside while I finished up other swaps. Now that I'm working on the ATCs for Liz's swap, WOWOWOWOWOW!!! This book ROCKS! There are so many cool things to try in it - I did tissue paper backgrounds for my New Year cards. I'm going to try two more techniques - don't know what yet. The techniques include ones such as using: Watercolors, Babywipes, Paper Towels, Leafing Pens, Inky Layers, Stencils, Magazine Paper, Gesso, Nevr-Dull, Phone Book Paper, String, Tissue Paper, Transfers, Fun Foam, Embossign, Frescos, Resins, Fabrics, Fibers, Sewing and Stitching, Metal tape, Mica, Friendly Plastic and then there are other sections such as the history of the cards, "ULTRA-CARDS" that include journaled ones, foloed, Dipych and Tripytch cards, Didigtal, even how to make storage for the ATCs. The pictures - AMAZING! The entire book is FULL of them - it even shows you pics step by step of how to do the technique, the finished product and then about 5-6 examples + more sometimes. GET THIS BOOK, GET THIS BOOK, GET THIS BOOK and then join our new monthly ATC swap! www.amazon.com/Artist-Trading-Cards-Workshop-Collect/dp/1581808488/sr=8-1/qid=1172612108/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-6135164-0088604?ie=UTF8&s=books

Wow! The book looks worth the money! It seems to have a lot of pictures and information on techniques. I am really really new to ATC's, so I might just have to pick one up for ideas.

That one looks neat. You did tissue paper for the discovery?? I can't wait to see it. I want to try that one, the telephone pages and the gesso ones soon. I think tho I have to try them all!! This whole ATC thing is so cool. Did you read page 7 and 8 or did you already know that?? I am amazed that this has been around more than 10 years and I am just hearing of it now!! The New Gallery in Calgary will be celebrating 10 years this September! WOW. Where have I been?? lol I absolutely love this book!!!! I would totally recommend it!! On top of all the awesome new techniques I have to try, there are so many great ideas too!!

And along that same line of thinking...
I CANT BELIEVE that there are not more people into ATC's!!!! God, no one where live "gets" the,. I have offered like 3 classes on them, and only 1 of the classes got any sign ups. People dont seem to understand what they are...
I try to explain that they are basically like crafty little baseball cards for artsy chicks (or guys!) ...
i just cant understand why they havne;t caught on around me - there are so many scrappers and stampers I would have thought they would have caught on...
Michelle
PS thanks for the link on that book - the price is great from amazon! I am ordering it tonight! m

As I tell the DH - I spent that money for a good cause! Not that he cares - I just like to see him chuckle when I say it!

Gosh, I own so much "Scrap Crap" now, that I welcome the though of doing ATCs so I can use some of my stash up!
Speaking of stash - i just added these really cool little acrylic paints that I found in AC Moore's - "Laguna", they are called - and have little nifty tubes of paints with really great colors.
hmmm.... some of you ATC'ers out there may see these on some up coming artwork...

I LOVE this book!
Sarah was so nice and sent it to me as a gift, I LOVE it.
I've tried a couple of the techniques and it prompted me to place a $100 order on thingy blick's site!
This book really is a MUST HAVE.
