So Liz and Em made me think of this: what is your favorite scrap magazine and why?
For me, it's Scrapbooks Etc. It's published by BHG and ever since Liz turned me on to it, I've enjoyed it more than any other scrap magazine. They seem to have a great balance of techniques, layouts to look at, projects, elements for the page (how to journal, etc) and then trendy stuff. It's geared for the average person, which I love! It's bright, colorful, never cluttered and has LOTS OF PICS.
One issue had a compare contrast of albums, an article on the ultimate scrapbook closet (having the perfect space), and even how to use scrap supplies as home decor (cute stuff!!!) Then to boot, I wasn't even half way through the magazine and counted over 25 layouts! They have TONS and TONS of pictures- whoops, already said that LOL
I like CK, but it's the same over and over, papercrafts rocks, but it's cards, and MM has really gone in the wrong direction. The rooms they showed - either ugly or way out of reach of the average person, there is SOOO much text and far to few pictures, even the advertising is dull LOL I don't know - i used to like it, but MM overall in many different areas has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Now, Simple Scrapbooks is another good one - not as colorful and ful of variety as Scrapbooks, Etc but good nonetheless.
How about you all? What scrap magazine moves you?

Well, I LOVED Scrapbook Answers but that's gone. I get Scrapbooks, Etc in its place and so far so good! I buy CK every so often but sometimes the layouts are too fussy and pretentious. MM hasn't been doing it for me lately and I might let my subscription lapse.

I have never seen Scrapbook Etc... - that is one I must check out. Not one store in my town sells scrapbooking magazines. When I go out of town I forget to pick them up! I think I will run over there and subscribe since, you all like them!

I LOVE Scrapbook Etc. It's actually one of the first scrap related mags that I bought. It's so colorful and full of awesome information and beautiful layouts! But my fave by far is Paper Crafts. I was turned on to it last year at the Memories Expo and I got a subscription for really cheap!!! I think I'll get a couple different subscriptions there this year, they have awesome deals! I would suggest if you go to a convention, sign up or renew your subscriptions there!!!

I LOVE Scrabooks Etc. too. It is the only subscription I actually have. They always have tons of LO's that I can scraplift. LOL
I bought Paper Crafts once and don't remember being that impressed. I think it's because at the time I wasn't into cardmaking and altering etc. Now that I do all of that too, I think I'll pick up another copy and see if it appeals to me again.
Thanks for the reminder of that one Emily.
And the chances of me ever getting to go to an Expo or Convention.......HA. Unfortunately, they don't have those in Wyoming. Maybe Denver, but that's 8 hours away.

I always buy the Scrapbooks ETC --it's right where I am. I was buying the SA one (which was very good) but when OOB went back to just one Another one I liked but is only available by subscription is Creative Memories Mag. They were actually getting very good . It was/is a very good magazine about techniques, granted it will not have the bulky pages but it was incorporating computer journally, use of die cutt, adding memorabilia -- I would probably highly recommend it for a new scrapper, it was not just a cut and paste guide but really walked you through creating unique and original simple pages.
