Ok, so last night I was sitting here online looking at Neutrisystem and my mom came to visit and I was telling her how I wanted to start on it. Low and behold, she had a whole box of it that she DIDN'T WANT!!!!!!!!! She said it was too hard for her to try to stay on a diet since she has to cook for my brother and sister all the time and they eat regular foods. So after spending all of that money, she gave it to me!! Now let's see if it works and if the food is worth eating....... I started a weight loss scrapbook a few weeks ago by taking pics and journaling, etc and let me say, I HAVE to lose weight! I am very unhappy with the way I look right now. So hopefully I'll be a few pounds lighter in a few weeks! What's your strategy for losing weight and keeping it off? How do you keep yourself fro mreaching for that little piece of chocolate? Do you exercise? If so, how to you stay on track or on a schedule? Just curious to what others might do!

i have a journal i started. In the summer, I FAITHFULLY swim everyday and do water aerobics. However, winter is harder. I do have a recumbent bike and lost weight a while back by rewarding myself. I had bought all five seasons of Sex and the City on dvd and the only way i was allowed to watch was if i was riding. It worked. Well, I just bought the first season of Melrose Place ( I LOVED that show), so I'm going to try that again.
I'm pretty good about food - I cut down on pop at the beginning of the summer, so I'm down to one can a day - I just have to drink more water now. I go in spurts.
My issue - exercise and consistency. Good luck on the Nutrisystem - let us know how it goes!

Allthough those Wish Bone Salad Spritzers are really good and you're allowed to have them, it's only 1 cal per squirt. I love the Italian Vinagrette, I would highly suggest it! And that's a good idea, no tv unless you exercise lol! My living room isn't very big so I can't really drag my elliptical in there..... well.... I guess it could and then take it back out to my laundry room when I'm done! That would be a workout in itself! I think my main problem has always been portion control. I like the idea of having this all portioned out for you. Now if I can find something ot do to keep myself from getting hungry!

well back last year I lost 40 pounds on Weight Watchers.... I was doing step aerobics twice a week and then Hit it High and Hit it low so I was exercising and toning 4 times a week plus walking. Then I fell and broke my foot. Sooo I havent been released to exercise since that... and now with my leg my dr wont let me do anything. But I am going back on weight watchers. I am going to start with the atkins diet to kickstart my system and then I am going to go to weight watchers and try that again.

I've lost 81 pounds so far on NutriSystem. I'm still doing it but have hit a plateau and it's frustrating! I do go to Curves three times a week. It's on my way home from work.
Em - I am not a big salad fan so I ususally eat a veggie at lunch instead of a salad.

Okay this is what I do now!
The hardest part is sticking to it! I only have 20 pounds to lose but, I want it off! On the other board you know they had that weight loss thread and I lost a good bit doing that!
I have oatmeal for breakfast, 1 bowl of Kellogs vanilla nut cereal for lunch. Fruit about 3:00. And I eat a normal dinner. I exercise 5 times a week. This just started two weeks ago- I pay to exercise so, therefore I go. When I was doing it at home - I would skip days etc. Three days a week combination of weights and the tread mill! Two days a week I'm on the tread mill for an hour.
It really is working - I lost 3 pounds from yesterday to today!
I drink one coke a day, then unsweetened tea and water!

That's AWESOME Stacey!!!! i thought you looked a lot thinner in the pic in your avatar than the one you used to have on MM!!! I like salads, but I get burnt out on them. I like how you can substitute some things like vegetables and stuff on Nutrisystem. I think I'll probably continue on after this 2 weeks that my mom gave me is done. When you think about it, it's not all that expensive compared to what you'd spend at the grocery store. Jeanne, I'm sorry that you had to take a break from it because of your leg, but hopefully you get better soon and can start back in the swing of things! I've never tried Weight Watchers, but I know a lot of people who have and they have great success stories! I REALLY want the space saver elliptical from Nordictrack, BUT I don't want to spentd $800 on it. April and I had this discussion earlier and I decided the more money you spend on one, the better it is. She said she has a nordictrack and it's great, I on the other hand have a $200 cheap walmart one and it's so hard to run on. I guess I'll try to decide here in the next couple of weeks. I might find one on HSN and do the montly payments thing. I guess I could drag one into the living room whenever I want to exercise. I don't have a local gym, there is a YMCA about 25 miles away, but I'd rather work out at home. I HOPE to God this works this time! I'm sick of being fat and unhappy. Hopefully we can all share our stories on here! it gives me hope when I see others telling their success stories!

Payments is the way to go! I had a 1200.00 treadmill - used it once - my cat tried to walk with me - it was a danger. I ended up trading it recently for a central air unit for our house (LOL)-my friend jsut had a baby and really wanted it. She said it ROCKS! I think you need to spend on stuff like that! I know my recumbent bike is mid-line and i lke it! Now if i could just get back in the groove of being on it!

I really like the fold up elliptical.... but I also like a treadmil, though April informed me that it's hard on your knees, AND I really don't have room. That's my main problem is space. I guess I COULD sell my old one for like $40- 50 I'm sure someone would buy it for that. I know I've used it only a few times simply because I didn't like it. It's not smooth and it's really hard to run on.
Keep your eyes out for Elliptical deals ladies! lol

I am going for the marathon sex weightloss program. Now, if only I remembered which tab goes into which slot. Was it A or B? Crap, no wonder I'm fat. Does Pagemaps have a diagram for this? Help!

Check out this blog. The woman did NutriSystem without buying the food. She posts all the recipes she used and pictures of the food! NS can be pretty pricey so this is a great reference site to do it and not have to shell out $$$

So far, NS tastes like DOG FOOD!!! lol It was ok at first but now blah!!! Today the smell of food made me sick so I haven't eaten much. I'm on the plan where I'm off on the weekends. My mom gave me the food, but after I'm done with it, I'm not buying more. I would love to try some of the ladies recipes though! That's a good idea!!! I think the main thing with NS is eating healthy and PORTION CONTROL (which is my huge problem!!!)

No, I forgot to post the link! amysmithr.blogspot.com/2005/08/how-i-do-ns-with-my-own-food.htmlSome of the NS stuff is good, but some is just yucky. I'm actually eating a bunch of stir-fried veggies with the chicken patty cut into strips in a lemon stir fry sauce and it's so yummy! But the food definitely needs to be doctored up a bit!
