I have a Kodak Easy Share (digital) and a Canon Rebel (film). I LOVE the Canon. We have a Pentax and a Canon Rebel (film cameras) for Yearbook that are both GREAT and then digital - we have two Kodaks again and I don't care for them whatsoever! They are junk if you ask me! I'm just not impressed with them and I thought they would be much better than they are. I've got my kids busting their butts this year so we can buy a Digital Canon Rebel. They get the HIGHEST marks from all of the Yearbook teachers across our state!

My photo teacher in college had a digital rebel and she does professional work with it. She's taken it all over the world and taken some amazing pictures with it!

I just got a new Sony Cybershot for my Bday on Monday. I haven't used it yet but I can't wait to play with it in a couple of weeks when I go on a weekend trip to Puerto Vallarta.

Mine is so cool. It's simple to use. You hold the button down for like 5 seconds and a hi-tech orange light comes on....that means the flash is ready! Then you look in the view screen and CLICK it takes a pic! Wow, it retails for $9.95 (most brands!)

I have a little trouble looking through the hole in the camera due to my cockeyed vantage point, but anyway, my digital camera is an HP.

I have two digital cameras. One is a 5.0 mp Pentax, which I bought because Pentax makes such awesome lenses. It has a 20x zoom (the good zoom), which is a lot for more small digitals and I like that. However, it has a slow recovery time for the flash so I found I was missing some shots of my grandchildren as they played.
That led me to purchase a 6.1mp Fuji. It has a terrific recovery and I can take many shots in a row without missing anything. It also takes incredible pictures. It was less expensive than my Pentex but it's a great camera and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I gave my DS and DIL a 3.0 mp Fuji and it take really incredible pictures too. It now runs about $100 so it's a good camera for a low price.
I have heard that Fuji was early in the digital market and that's why their cameras are very good while Kodak was slow and had to play catchup so they rushed their products into the market and most of their digitals are really not very good. I know a number of people who purchased the Easy Share and absolute hate them. I was told this by someone who worked for Kodak.
I would love to have the Rebel (my SIL has it). It's a terrific camera and I want to be able to talk long zooms of my grandchildren so I can catch them when they don't know I'm taking pictures. Those unexpected, unposed photos are the best.
Hey cockeyed??? Ever talked to a doctor about surgery to fix your problem? Welcome to the group!

I have several cameras:
Pentax SLR purchased in 1978..still works.
Vivitar 35mm, has a big viewfinder
Nikon APS
HP M407, 4.1 MP, also can be used as a camcorder
Nikon D50 SLR, 6.1 MP, batteries allow you to take many pictures on a single charge...better than the HP
I plan to get a zoom and telescope lens for the D50 when school ends for the winter. They don't sell it here so I will likely be purchasing it in NYC when I go there for vacation/work.

I am still at the Koday Easy Share stage -- I personally love my old 35 mm but the need for quick turnaround in snaps required that I join the digi world

Don't feel bad Liz - I am a Kodak owner too.
Actually, I kinda like mine. I haven't had any problems. I just bought it about 6 months ago, so maybe they have had time to improve??

I am really happy with it so far. It's a 7.2 MP, 6xOptical zoom with Mega OIS. I also got a 2GB memory card which holds some crazy amount of pictures -- 560!!
