Ok, as I sit here (butt numb), thinking about how fun it is going to be to put my ideas on paper for Liz's ATC swap, I thought of a cool idea. I'm going to put it out here and see if it takes off. This is a Monthly ATC Swap. It's simplistic in nature (since others will want to do bigger and more comprehensive ATC swaps again - I hope). This swap will be limited to 6 people. This swap will be due on the 30th of every month. This swap will have a new one word theme every month. What you do is this: based on the one word theme, make 8 ATC cards. You will get 6 back on that theme. Next month - the theme will change. We'll keep going every month! If there are less than 6 people, we'll make less cards, it's cool! What'cha all think? Game? MARCH's Theme: Discovery (due MARCH 30th)
1. Sarah 2. Ruby 3. Liz 4. Stacey 5. Amanda 6. Connie

I have never created an ATC and I have never seen one. I'm afraid I wouldn't even know where to start!
Maybe, if someone showed me different ideas, I might be interested in joining.
What do you do with them? Just curious.

Hey Connie - I still have to get out to you a Soup card ATCs are FUN! They are challenging and give total artistic freedom. Basically, you have a theme and on the required card size, you intrepret that them any way you want - using any material you want, as long as you adhere to the requirements (2.5 x 3.5 inches and no more than .5 inches thick). For example, Liz is hosting one on MM right now that has 5 categories. For new years, I used tissue paper, crumplied it and painted it for a background. I then stamped and embossed images and am adhering those with bubbles. For Wind, I alcohol inked the background and am adhereing a quote over that. Liz for one, made a book, another girl used a broken record! You can do ANYTHING your imagination comes up with. Below is two links - one to wipedia that gives a quick rundown on what they are and the other to the MM gallery that houses the last two ATC swaps on MM. Also, google ATC or artist trading cards and a TON of stuff will come up. Ok, shamelss plug time - this is a good place to start - this will be a VERY small group and only one theme, so it's a great way to get your feet wet. You'll only have to make a few and you can practice Oh, I'm also going to link you to Liz's directions - they are comprehesive and explain about numbering them, etc. SMILES and JOIN US! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artist_trading_cardswww.memorymakersmagazine.com/forum/photos/photo-thumbnails.asp?albumid=1115www.memorymakersmagazine.com/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=20026&start=1

And the themes are all open to your interpretation. I also did Liz's Wind ATC and I chalked my background and then stamped and embossed.
Sarah - I'll take a spot!

Awesome Stacey and Amanda! Fun, fun! I just worked on my wind ones last night - I used the alcohol inks - I'M IN LOVE!!!! Those things are awesome! I ended up using them again today on some chipboard LOL! These are due March 30th - as long as they are in the mail by that day, I'm a happy camper! They got here very quickly last time - so don't worry about express mailing or anything.

Ok - it looks to me like these are very creative and are up to interpretation of the theme! How fun.
Count me in and I'll give it a try. Since I have a month to do them, I should be able to come up with something. Wish me luck!
