I'll check with him to see what price he can get it for. I have CS. I was trying to do the "kaleidoscope" thingy, and when I do "duplicate" it duplicates the white background as well. I guess I need to check out the "basic" tutorials!

Oh that website i gave the link to has a wonderful kaleidescope technique on it! its a little tricky at first but once you get the first one, you'll breeze through it! It's under the intermediate skills - here it is: www.escrappers.com/kaleidoscope.htmlJessica, with you getting the white too, I think that is how you set up your document. Try opening a new document, and make sure the background is set for TRANSPARENCY. (When you create a new document, look down on the bottom left and you will see different options for your background). It will open a document with a grey and white checkerboard in the background. Now Go to Layers, and add a second layer. Then open the photo you want to do this technique on, select it all and copy it, and paste it into the new layer you made. After you tilt/rotate the photo, and delete what you dont want, you will be able to select the photo piece cleanly without getting white background . and thank you so much for asking your brother - that is very very cool of you to do! By the way ladies, take a really good look through this site, because a whole ton of the techniques in here are also compatible with Adobe Phtoshop elements, too - so even if you dont have full blown Photoshop, you can still pick up a lot of good skills here. hth! michelle

That's the tutorial I was using, but I didn't know about the transparent background, thanks! I'll try it again. I was trying to do a kaleidoscope of my lady's slipper flower that I took a recent pic of.

I haven't touched my Wishblade since the few hours I used it on the day it arrived, partly because I was gone to be with my Dad so much and partly because I've just been overwhelmed. Now...my laptop broke and I cannot get it to work so I'm using my old one and I know if I try to download the software, it'll overwhelm this computer. I'm laid up with a broken foot that I can't put any weight on so I now have time to play with it and can't.
I really want to learn to weld letters so if anyone has it figured out and wouldn't mind sharing the instructions, I'd print them out so I have them when I can finally play with it again.

Welding is a snap in that Create and cut software... you just go up to the drop down menu where you can group things, etc, and there is a choice right there for WELD - very easy! A little harder for me is I cant yet figure out how to cut the shadow matt for works without recutting the words over - its dirving me a little nuts. m
