i bought the HSN version from a gal on ebay, and it arrived yesterday, but i didnt start playing with it til today... and IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it! Now - I will admit... the create and cut software is not quite as easy as the name suggests. I have the whole "welding letters" thing down, but i am having a little more trouble with cutting the backgrounds... i am trying to cut the background outline out without re-cutting the letters, and its a little tricky... however, other than this, its cutting all kinds of fonts that i didnt think would cut, so i am really very impressed with it so far... and i know i am only barely beginning to scratch the surface of what this thing can do! i dont think i will give up my cricut just yet... but i have a feeling that once i master the wishblade, that the cricut may not get so much attention - lol! happy happ joy joy! m

Have fun with it Michelle!!! I got mine in March but I haven't really played with it too much because the cricut is soooo much easier so I play with my bug! lol Let me know if you figure out how to do anything cool besides cutting basic fonts! lol i'm too lazy to try it out!

well, i havent even opened up the disk from HSN yet for the shape templates they sent, but i did cut some other shapes - like a swirl.. Oh! and I have a font called DF Calligraphic ornaments (i think!) and I took one of te swirly things, and made it huge, and cut that - it was gorgeous! I read in the help manual that the wishblade is compatible with all Abode products, too - so I am going to see if there is a way that i can use some of my adobe brushes to cut shapes with. I have a lot of cool Rhonna Farrer stuff - I will let y'all know if it works!
Em - you have an awful lot of projects on the go - you should break that bad boy out and use it to help you get some stuff done! Once I figured out what I was doing, I had allt he titles for 4 layouts cut within minutes.. I have to get the pages ready to put them on now! It cuts faster I think that the cricut, becuause the cricut limits you to how many characters at a time it will do and they all have to be the same size... where on the wishblade, you can do a whole bunch of phrases and stuff, and all different sizes and effects and shapes too. I'm qute impressed with it, I must say!
And I got a great deal - the HSN version usually goes for $499.00 PLUS shipping which is about 30 bucks... I got mine for $425 total including shipping! And the gal I bought is from is so nice, too - she sold it because she is less than a month away from the birth of her 4th child, and just does not have time to scrap at all. I am making a baby book to send to her since she lamented that she wont be able to scrap for a few months, she says.

Sorry if this upsets you Michelle, but I got mine directly from HSN and there was a coupon available.... I ended up paying $400 including shipping..... it rounded out to about $80 a month for 5 months. Not bad at all! And yes, I need to break that bad boy out but I don't have time to play with it right now to figure it out!!! And that's nice of you making the lady a baby book.... wanna make me one???!!! LOL I don't have time to scrap because i'm lazy... though I like to blame it on pregnancy hahahaha

Where did you find a coupon to get the Wishblade so cheap! his is the one I got.. . ************************************************** Xyron Wishblade 2007 Personal Media Cutter Crafts Kit - Item: 234-055 HSN Price: $499.90 Retail Value: $549.98 *************************************************** if i had known about coupon, than i wouldnt have bothered with going the ebay route... ..although, i wouldnt have met this chick online if i hadnt, either, so i guess things work out the way they are supposed to! Hey! Hopefully she will join the board!!! Also, I know the coupon I used expired at the end of March, but they always have coupons here and there..... just not sure if one could have helped you.... But you still got a good deal! I used my wishblade some last night.... still getting used to it!!! And don't worry, on july 5, as soon as I know something about weather it's a boy or a girl.... you all will know also! I told Adam that as soon as we find out, we're heading out to do a registry! i'm excited! I wanna do some baby shoppin! lol

Well, Adobe brushes... lets see if i can explain without sounding like more of a dork than i already am! LOL!
I have full blooded Adobe Photoshop, and in it there is a Brush tool. Looks like a little paintbrush icon. But what's cool about it is it can be different shapes... like a circle, a triangle, a leaf, a whole bunch of cool stuff. Photoshop comes with a bunch of them already.. but you can purchase additional ones.
I got some Rhonna Farrer stuff online, and in her digital kits, there are also brushes that you can load into photoshop. Like, some of the ones from her kits include little crowns, birds, swirlies, scrolls, etc. The are really neat!

I have Photoshop too, but haven't used it too much yet (my brother works for them so he gets super cheap software...he usually gives us something for Christmas) Maybe a little "getting started in Photoshop" tutorial would help me? Hint hint?

I know what you're talking about Michelle..... I was a graphic design student for about 3 years but never did finish my degree in it, instead I went into fine arts..... but all of those graphic design and photoshop classes did pay off! Brushes are awesome! Can the WB cut them? And yes April, CS does have brushes, you just have to know how to use them DUHHH!!! You should have taken some of those photoshop books from my house when you were here! lol

I havent fooled with my Rhonna Farrer brushes and the WB yet, but am planning to try this week. Jessica, i have a great website where you can learn anyting you wanna know about using photoshop... TONS of step by step tutorials. It's awesome! www.escrappers.com/photoshopatoz.htmltheres so many things to learn at this site i could never list them all - have fun! theres anything you might ever want to learn here. AND: Hey, Jessica, if your brother can get you an cheap upgrade package from Photoshop 7.0 to CS or CS2,... please please please tell me how much and I will send a check immediately! that would be awesome! thank you thank you if you can ask him, i would be eternally grateful... April I should have read your post more carefully... CS is the next version of photoshop after mine, so you definitely have brushes. Try clicking on the paintbrush - it should open the brush menu. Then, at the top where it shows how big your brush size is, click that and all the ones you have loaded should show up in a menu. michelle
