Does everyone recommend getting the Wizard? I am tempted but am afraid it will wind up unused like most of my scrapbooking supplies.

LOL, I just had a die cut dilemna and found a die I wanted to use, but it was a BIg Shots die. I know everyone keeps saying to go with the Wizard, so I ordered the die, but no machine. I didn't want to spend the money on the Big Shots machine when I should just spend it on the Wizard. LOL So, I'm going to try the die at work first on our machine there and see if I can get it to work.
I'd love to hear recommendations too...

I love the wizard because you can use ALL DIES with it! At first when I got mine I was like hmm.... this thing is weird! And It took me a little but to figure it out. The good hting is, spellbinders has tutorials, etc on their website which have been very helpful to me. I love the dies that spellbinders makes because they also emboss, but the thing is, their a pain to cut because you have to make a sandwhich, run it through to cut, then make another sandwhich and run it through to emboss. It's a 2 step process, and I'm lazy!!! lol! I use mine mostly for my sizzix dies. I have cut through 5 pieces of paper at once with a sizzix die and my wizard. If you need a lot of dies really quickly, the Wiz is what you need! I ordered mine from hsn.com where you get it with an alphabet set and a mystery die for only $150. I love the hsn feature because if you don't have a lot of funds like me, you can do a 3 easy payment deal Hope this helps to persuade you guys that YOU NEED A WIZARD!!! hehe I had a sizzix and got rid of it because I love my wizard so much, PLUS it's very lightweight to take to crops, etc!

I have the Wizard but haven't purchased many of the dies that Spellbinders sells because I also have my Sizzix and Quickutz dies. I have to admit though that I've had a hard time transitioning to the Wizard from my Sizzix. I guess I just haven't gotten into the habit yet. I need to work on that and once I begin to use it for more embossing, I'm certain I'll get my monies worth.

I agree, I do have a hard time using my Wizard sometimes. While I can say that yes, you can adapt and use other dies that I just don't have so many that I need it right now. It's more of a novelty for me to own as I still use my sizzix more for my sizzix dies. You can use sizzix dies in the wizard but my point is why when it's easier to use the Sizzix dies in the Sizzix machine.
My machines are "Cherry" and "Berry" respectfully!

I wanted the wizard, but got a sizzix for 37.00 at Joanns, so i guess I'm going to hold off on it. Might as well stock up on some dies for that first, especially if they continue to be on sale! LOL

I have a Wizard and I love mine. Not only can I use the all the dies, I can even use the new ones by Cricut/ProvoCraft! The Wizard is also compatible with Fiskars' embossing plates. This is going to sound crazy, but earlier this year..I sent my Wizard to Spellbinders and got it autographed by the inventor and the guy who it is named after. LOL!!

I took the plunge and ordered a Wizard on Joanns.com. It was on sale for $78, plus I got free shipping.
Part of me doesn't know if I REALLY need it, but we'll see how much I actually use it.
Now I am going to need ideas from everyone!!!!

LOL, Congrats!!! I've eyed it, but since I got the sizzix at Joanns for under 38 dollars and then went crazy and bought the cricut as an impulse at michaels, the wizard will not be coming home here for a while. But, I will live vicariously through you - you'll have to share all of the fun you have with it!!!!!

Well, like most things in my scraproom..........the Wizard has gone completely unused!!!!!! I haven't done one thing with it.
I need to get the recipes for the sandwiches that everyone talks about.
Maybe someone can post some tips for us?

The wizard is okay, but I like the simplicity of my sizzix. I HATE fussing with all the sandwhiches. But I do like the versatility I will say that! For the money I'd say I wish I would have just bought something like the wishblade upfront. It WILL be my next large SB purchase!
I use cuttlebug dies in my wizard, and I find that they're not that expensive! (especially cause you can use the 1/2 off coupon at AC Moore! (not sure on M's or JA)
