At the end of June, I finally managed to enter a layout contest at my LSS. I buy the kit (usually 2 sheets of 2 sided paper, 12" of ribbon and a few brads or studs for $2.50) You can add what you want to the supplies but must use some of what they give you.
I buy the kits all the time but never entered. I found out today that I won the July contest. My layout will be displayed in the store during August and I have a prize package of goodies waiting when I get back home (currently I'm in California).
I'm so shocked that I won but happy with myself that I took the challenge and entered during a time when I was so depressed over my Dad that I could hardly get anything done. That makes this win really special to me. Plus, with my broken foot in a cast, reaching supplies was a real effort and I found myself crawling around on the floor to get to things I needed. I could have given up but stayed with it and I'm happy I did, win or not because I proved to myself that I could do it.
The layout is about my DGD, Emma pouting. It's totally cute!
