Ok, so I have to do a title for a swap. This is what I have to do: the word Father - it has to be mounted - be at least 3x5 and use the colors required (bazzill). So, I did the Father - size 1.5 in the blue. I then took the olive green and cut out a 3x5 piece and chalked the edges in dark brown (the third bazzill color that I DIDN'T buy). I then mounted that to a 4z6 piece of the olive green with dark brown brads. The Father will go in the center on the 3x5.
My question: how can i embellish this? What is manly? I have buttons - I could use those - I only have a few brown though - and then the rest are either bright colors, polka dot ones or cream. I have fastenaters, but none of them are manly. I have a boatload of primas - too girly. None of my die cuts are manly, stickers are not allowed - What the heck can I use to jazz these up?

You can make your own buttons with chipboard circles. Cover them with matching paper, punch a couple of holes in the middle and thread through some corresponding color floss/fibers and presto, homemade button. You can paint them, ink them and sand the edges. I can't remember where I saw this or I would post a link!
